In the haste of your daily life, through negligence, whilst fulfilling your job responsibilities, doing sports or having a good time, you can sustain injuries, become permanently disabled or even lose your life. If this is the case, you will encounter losses, which can either be measured or the amount of loss may be impossible to tell. Therefore, in order to provide a maximum protection for losses in the event of an accident, there is a possibility of purchasing an accident insurance policy, which would pay out an indemnity to the insured person in the event of a sustained trauma or permanent disability, but in the event of death the indemnity would be paid to the beneficiary named in the policy or a legal successor.
A standard accident insurance policy will cover the loss sustained in the event of death or permanent disability, but, if considered necessary, it is also possible to include such insurance covers as the risk of sustaining an injury, daily allowance in the event of incapacity to work, sick pay for the period of hospitalisation and the compensation of medical expenses caused by an accident.
- Death – the insured person’s death as the result of an accident. The indemnity is paid out in the amount specified in the insurance policy. The indemnity is paid to the legal successors or the beneficiary named in the insurance policy.
- Permanent disability – permanent disability sustained as the result of an accident. The indemnity is paid out as a proportion of the insured amount, having taken into account the group of disability.
- Traumas, broken bones, burns, frost-bites – an injury sustained as the result of an accident. The indemnity is paid out as a proportion to the insured amount, having taken into consideration the severity of the trauma sustained.
- Daily allowance – a temporary incapacity to work resulted from an accident. The indemnity is paid out for every day of incapacity to work as a constant amount not exceeding the indemnity limit specified in the insurance policy.
- Sick pay – it is the indemnity paid out for every day spent in a hospital as the result of an accident. The indemnity is paid as a constant amount, not exceeding the indemnity limit specified in the insurance policy.
- Medical expenses – it indemnifies any medical expenses relevant to the accident. The indemnity is paid not exceeding the indemnity limit specified in the insurance policy.
In the event of an accident, the insurance company will pay out the indemnity according to the principle of compensation, which means that the indemnity is paid for every policy taken, depending on the insured amount and according to the terms and conditions of the particular insurance policy, if there are several accident insurance policies for the same person.
